Midbox Warranty/Claims

Your Midbox product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 3 years or 36,000 miles from the original date of purchase to the original purchaser, whichever occurs first.

Steelweld provides an online Service/Warranty Claim System. In order to make a warranty claim or place a service order, you will need to take your vehicle to an authorized OEM Dealer to assess the claim or place the service order.

Dealers please login and choose the Service/Warranty Claim form. You will be asked to provide some basic vehicle information and detailed description of the warranty claim or service part. Once you have placed your claim into the system, a Customer Representative will contact you to process the order/claim. You will be able to view your claim and status on-line.

Service Body Warranty/Claims

Duration of Limited Warranty

3-year limited warranty for parts and labor on bodies and equipment manufactured by Steelweld Equipment Company, Inc., and the installation of customer approved vendor provided components. (Travel time covered for 12 months from in-service date.)

Exceptions are noted below.

Initial defects within 75 days of shipment will be covered in full, without charges for time or transportation.

Steelweld warrants to the end-user that bodies and equipment will be free of defects in materials and workmanship from the date of delivery, for the period specified above. This warranty applies only to those parts that fail due to normal use in the job for which it was manufactured. If Steelweld receives notice of such defects during the warranty period, Steelweld will, at its option, either repair or replace products which prove to be defective.

Additionally, Steelweld warrants that the body will not rust through, the hinges will not fail to operate, that shelves will not bend under 250 lb. load and the body subframe is fully warranted for the specific application, for a period of 5 years.

Steelweld reserves the right to have warranted parts returned for evaluation, at its own expense.

Products not manufactured by Steelweld Equipment Company, Inc., but furnished in conjunction with an order will carry the warranty furnished by the manufacturer of such products.

All warranty problems related to the chassis/cab or van that our products are installed on should be directed to the closest automobile dealership representing the manufacturer of the vehicle involved.

Warranty does not apply to defects resulting from (a) neglect or abuse (b) improper or inadequate maintenance, or (c) unauthorized modification, alteration or misuse.

How do I purchase a Steelweld Vehicle?

As a consumer, purchasing a Steelweld vehicle is as easy as going to your local dealership. Any dealership in your area is able to enter the correct product codes in order to get your vehicle to Steelweld for the specified assembly. 
You may wish to call Steelweld directly to help find a local commercial dealer in your area, but all of our products can be ordered through your local dealership.

Steelweld’s midBox and service bodies can be ordered through any OEM Dealership. There are recommended Dealers in your area that are already familiar with our products and to find them, you can contact us at 877-374-5559. We will assist you in selecting a Commercial Dealer in your area.

How do I get service or place a warranty claim on the Steelweld vehicles?


In order to make a service request or place a warranty claim, you will need to bring your vehicle to your local dealership. Steelweld will work with your local dealership in assessing the situation and getting your vehicle back in service as soon as possible. How do I take possession of my Steelweld Vehicle?

Depending on the vehicle you order, Steelweld has an easy solution for your delivery.

  1. Steelweld Equipment Company works directly with your local Dealership in the delivery of your vehicle. Once the vehicle has been completed it will be shipped from one of our manufacturing locations through the OEM delivery system and arrive with other vehicles being delivered to your dealer. Once your dealer has finished prepping your vehicle, they will contact you for delivery.
  2. Steelweld Equipment Company has our very own fleet of tractor trailers that will deliver your product and ensure that the delivery date you were promised…is never missed.

How do I purchase a Steelweld Vehicle?

Factory Order Process

  • Contact your local Steelweld Representative. You may also contact us at 877.374.5559 to find out who your local representative is.
  • Steelweld will contact you in regards to your request and will issue you a formal quote for approval.
  • Once you have reviewed and approved your quote you will need to order the vehicle chassis from the OEM by selecting the appropriate RPO Code for the product. You may also need to note the Ship-Through/Drop Ship Code in the OEMs system. The RPO and Ship-Through/Drop Ship Codes can be found in the product literature and RFQ forms and your Steelweld Representative can assist you in the ordering process.
  • After you have ordered the chassis you will need to issue Steelweld a Purchase Order for your order and supply the OEM vehicle order number for tracking purposes.
  • The chassis will be shipped directly to Steelweld for upfit from the OEMs factory. Once the upfit is complete Steelweld will place the completed vehicle back into the OEM transport system for delivery to your dealership, in the case of Ship-Through. If the vehicle is Drop-Ship, the upfit will be completed and the vehicle will arrive at your dealership via Steelweld’s transportation system at an agreed upon rate.
  • For Ship-Through, there is no additional freight charge for vehicles as they are re-entered into the OEM Transport system.

How are Steelweld Vehicles delivered?

Ship-Through


Steelweld vehicles are delivered to your dealership through the OEM's Ship-Through process. The vehicles will arrive on the regular transport carrier with your factory orders. No additional shipping charges are added by Steelweld Equipment Company.

Once the up-fit is complete, vehicles will arrive via Steelweld’s own transportation system at the agreed upon rate.

Once you have talked with our Service Department, you may be asked to fill out a service form for accuracy, and your issues will be addressed and you will be continually updated throughout the process so you are never wondering about the status.
